Alchemy Compatibility Packages

Cloudhouse Alchemy allows you to create Alchemy Compatibility Packages (formerly known as Cloudhouse Compatibility Containers™) that allow 32 and 64-bit applications written for previous out-of-support versions of Microsoft Windows to run on later, supported versions of the Windows operating system.

The process of creating a Compatibility Package is known as Packaging and is performed using the Alchemy Auto Packager. The computer on which the Compatibility Package is created is known as the Packaging Computer.

Once created, a Compatibility Package can be deployed and run on the computer running the newer version of Windows, referred to as the Target Operating System.

Note: See Supported Operating Systems for Alchemy Compatibility Packages for details of the Windows versions on which you can create, deploy, and run a Compatibility Package.

The Package Editor is used for editing/updating a Compatibility Package.
